Tom Brady took a shot at Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter while the legendary quarterback was working an NFC East game for FOX on Sunday.

Brady was the lead analyst alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt for the Week 1 game between the New York Giants and Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md. Early in the second half, FOX cameras captured Jayden Daniels and Giants rookie Abdul Carter exchanging what looked like some friendly banter.

Brady joked that it was good that no players were spitting on one another.

“Nobody’s spitting on one another, that’s a bonus right now,” Brady said. “Just being honest.”

Brady was obviously taking a shot at Carter, who was ejected just six seconds into the Eagles’ game against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night after he was caught spitting on Dak Prescott. Though, Prescott also spit in the direction of Carter just before that.

The 48-year-old Brady is in his second season as an analyst for FOX. He drew mixed reviews as a rookie broadcaster last year and made some embarrassing blunders, so perhaps he is trying to keep things more light at the start of 2025.
