The latest edition of Madden 26 ratings have emerged ahead of the game’s release, and they are bound to be controversial. The top quarterbacks in the league are led by Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson, the top-two finishers for the Most Valuable Player Award last season.
The list also includes a surprising drop for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and some stunning inclusions ahead of Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts. The entire top-10 list of quarterbacks in Madden 26 is below.
The 2024 Most Valuable Player, Josh Allen, comes in tied with Lamar Jackson for the highest overall for a quarterback in Madden 26. Allen was a 92 overall entering last season.
Allen enjoyed the best season of his career in 2024, as he totaled 3,371 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns and a career high 77.3 QBR. He led the Buffalo Bills to the AFC Championship, where they once again fell to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson rose one overall from a 98 overall last season to a 99 overall this season. He’s tied with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen as the best quarterback in Madden 26.
Lamar was the MVP runner-up behind Allen last season, as he threw for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 915 yards and four more scores. Jackson and the Ravens however crashed and burned in the playoffs, as they dropped their Divisional Round matchup to Allen and the Bills 27-25.
Burrow bounced back from an injury-riddled 2023 season last year with the greatest campaign of his career. The LSU product passed for 4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns and nine interceptions, but was not given the chance to play in a playoff game due to Cincinnati’s brutal defense. He was a 93 overall entering last season’s game.
With contracts taken care of and good injury luck so far this offseason, Burrow looks poised to enjoy profound success once again this season with superstar receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins out wide.
Three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a 15-1 regular season record and a loss in Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles last season. Although he helped spearhead one of the most dominant seasons in recent league history, Mahomes fell from a 99 overall in last year’s game to a 95 overall in this year’s game.
Mahomes did however suffer the worst (statistically) season of his career, as passed for just 3,928 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford surprisingly comes in at an 88 overall in this year’s Madden, five points higher than last year’s rating (83). The Georgia alum passed for 3,762 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions for a Rams franchise that fell in the Divisional Round to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
After experiencing back soreness this week at training camp, Rams head coach Sean McVay revealed that Stafford will not return to practice in the near future. He however is still expected to be ready for the 2025 season, which begins on Sep. 7 against the Houston Texans.
Jared Goff has enjoyed a career renaissance since joining the Detroit Lions in 2021. Goff led the Lions to a stellar 15-2 record last season (good for the No. 1 seed in the NFC) but fell in the Divisonal Round of the playoffs to the Washington Commanders.
Goff once again shined statistically, as he passed for 4,629 yards, 37 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The Cal alum and the Lions are once again expected to be near the top of the conference once again this season.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert bounced back in a big way last season, as he passed for 3,870 yards, 23 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He led the Chargers back to the playoffs, where they fell to the Houston Texas in the Wild Card round.
Herbert dropped one overall from an 87 overall to an 86 overall in this year’s game. He is entering his sixth NFL season.
The 2024 season was bitter sweet for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who led the Eagles to their second ever Super Bowl win and was named Super Bowl LIX MVP. He however remains at an 86 overall, the mark he was at entering last season.
Hurts was the perfect man to lead the ship, as he passed for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns (shoutout to the tush push).
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is entering his third season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he is playing the best football of his professional career. Mayfield, who has been named a Pro Bowler in two straight seasons, passed for 4,500 yards, 41 touchdowns and 16 interceptions last season.
Mayfield led the ‘Bucs to the Playoffs, where they fell to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. Tampa Bay has won four consecutive NFC South Division titles.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels quickly evolved into a superstar as a rookie, as he led the Commanders to their first NFC Championship appearance since 1991. The NFL’s Rookie of the Year passed for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions and was named a Pro Bowler.
With a strong returning core, expectations are high for Daniels in his second season of professional football. The LSU alum and former Heisman winner however has shown that he is prone to emerge in big moments.
