The Chicago Bears enter Week 7 with several players making significant contributions on both sides of the ball. While injuries have forced some players into expanded roles, others have bounced back from difficult performances to reestablish themselves as key pieces of the lineup. Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades offer a closer look at which Bears have performed best through the first six weeks of the 2026 season.
Kyler Gordon leads the team after an explosive return to the lineup, while Noah Sewell and Josh Blackwell have made the most of their opportunities in expanded defensive roles. Meanwhile, offensive linemen Jonah Jackson and Darnell Wright continue to anchor the Bears’ front, delivering strong performances in pass protection and run blocking. Here are the five highest-graded Bears entering Week 7, according to PFF.
Gordon made a spectacular 2026 debut in Atlanta on Sunday, earning the highest PFF grade among Bears players. Although his limited playing time makes it difficult to draw definitive conclusions, his impact in Week 6 was undeniable.
Gordon could earn NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after a dominant performance. He recorded three sacks and forced two fumbles, including a game-winning strip-sack on Sunday.
Sewell has seen increased playing time over the past couple of weeks because T.J. Edwards remains sidelined with an injury. So far, Sewell has delivered the kind of reliable production the Bears need from him in an expanded role.
Sewell recorded seven tackles and three run stuffs while allowing just one yard in coverage on Sunday. With a short week ahead, he could once again be called upon to step up for Chicago’s defense.
Like Gordon, Blackwell benefited from a relatively small sample size in Sunday’s game. However, he made the most of his opportunities and delivered an effective performance on defense.
Blackwell primarily contributes on special teams, but he played nine defensive snaps on Sunday. He recorded two tackles and one run stuff while allowing just four yards in coverage.
Jackson continues to deliver a strong season on the interior of Chicago’s offensive line. His pass protection has remained consistent, and he continues to serve as a physical presence in the run game.
Through 244 pass-blocking snaps this season, Jackson has allowed just nine pressures. His pressure rate of 3.6% is an excellent mark and reflects his steady performance in pass protection.
After a difficult Week 5 performance, Wright bounced back in a big way against Atlanta. He allowed just one pressure on Sunday, returning to the form he displayed through Week 4.
Wright has surrendered only 11 pressures across 257 pass-blocking snaps this season. His Week 6 performance was an encouraging response and reinforces his importance to Chicago’s offensive line.
