Broncos

  • ESPN’s Jeff Legwold notes the Broncos will be trying to balance fortifying the roster ahead of the trade deadline with keeping enough picks to fill long-term needs, with several starters on expiring deals this offseason.

Chargers

Chargers’ veteran EDGE Khalil Mack has been the subject of trade rumors with the team 0-7 and approaching the deadline. Los Angeles HC Jim Harbaugh made clear that they want Mack to stay put, and he remains “one of the pillars of our team.”

“I want Khalil Mack here,” Harbaugh said, via PFT. “Khalil Mack wants to be here. He’s one of the pillars of our team.”

Harbaugh remains focused on their Week 9 game against the Texans and is leaving personnel choices to GM Joe Hortiz and assistant GM Chad Alexander.

“I’m focused on the Texans. I know Joe, Chad, our organization are always looking to improve the team,” Harbaugh said. “I’m focused on getting it turned, forging ahead, striving in every way to play winning football.”

Chiefs

  • The Chiefs are looking to trade for a receiver ahead of the in-season deadline. On the other side, a player they might be willing to ship out is CB Kristian Fulton. (ESPN)
  • Chiefs HC Andy Reid said GM Brett Veach has been working the phones for a month: “We’ll see where it all goes. He’s great with that… If he can make things happen, we’ll make things happen…” (Charles Goldman)

Raiders

  • ESPN’s Dan Graziano notes the Raiders want to see RB Ashton Jeanty play better, which is why they leaned hard on fourth-round RB Mike Washington this past week. Las Vegas hopes that serves as a wake-up call for Jeanty, and going forward they plan to play the better back, whoever that ends up being.
  • The general expectation is the Raiders will stand pat ahead of the trade deadline and not look to make big moves either adding players or subtracting. However, they are expected to listen to offers for OL Jackson Powers-Johnson after he fell out of the lineup. (ESPN)
