Travis Hunter of the Jacksonville Jaguars has gone viral for a sensational play he made against Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins during Week 4.
Cincinnati was on offense near the end of the first quarter, trailing 3-0 against Jacksonville. On third-and-seven, with 1:20 remaining in the quarter, quarterback Joe Burrow threw the ball deep to his dynamic receiver, Higgins. Burrow overthrew his target, and Hunter, who was drafted by the Jaguars as a two-way star with the No. 2 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, secured the ball.
As Hunter faced off against Higgins, with the two simultaneously flipping from offense to defense, the 6-foot-1 cornerback made a dazzling move on Higgins, causing the Pro Bowl wide receiver to miss the tackle and collapse to the ground. Fans instantly reacted to the broken ankles, creating a viral moment.
“Hunter only got his first NFL interception last week against Drake Maye. Officially, this one disappears. The two-way talent is still all over the tape,” commented a fan.
“I thought this was AI,” joked a running backs coach.
“Did Higgins filthy,” commiserated another.
“OMG he cooked Tee ankles,” noted a user.
“ made tee Higgins look like he never played football before,” a fan mocked Higgins.
“Tee stick to being a WR sheesh,” said another.
Hunter recorded his first career interception against Drake Maye of the New England Patriots last week. Although the interception on the play against Higgins was called back due to a penalty, Jaguars fans have to be pleased with the recent play by their 23-year-old star.
