Travis Hunter just showed that he could play a third position for the Jacksonville Jaguars if he absolutely had to

When the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up with the Cleveland Browns to take Travis Hunter, everyone understood that the Jaguars were going to give Hunter the chance to play both sides of the ball, just as he did in college.

It's not a sure thing that every team, or any team that drafted him, was going to let him do that. There are certainly some teams that would have rather Hunter be just a cornerback or just a wide receiver if they had drafted him. Of course, there are also some who wanted him to play both sides of the ball, but ease into the second one after playing the first one for a bit.

The Jaguars seem like they fully trust him to throw him out there on both sides of the ball, even as a rookie. When it comes to which he is better at, some say cornerback, some say wide receiver. With the Jaguars, as a rookie, he has the chance to start his career as their WR2 and CB2. And letting him play on both sides of the ball will only give him more opportunities to help his team win.

You don't see players like him often, ever. Sure, Deion Sanders occasionally played both sides, but there hasn't ever really been a guy to play every single snap of the game on both sides of the ball. Hunter is special.

And, hey, if they ever need an emergency quarterback for some odd reason, he can do that, too. While doing some media for Panini, Hunter showed that he kind of has an arm, throwing the ball down the field in his uniform. And the caption made it all better.

Seriously, though, Hunter doesn't have any QB experience, like ever, but does know how to read defenses pretty well, considering he plays defense. And, yes, these emergency QB situations do happen. They don't happen often, but they happen nonetheless. Just ask the Denver Broncos.
