After missing the second half of the season with a torn ACL, Jacksonville Jaguars two-way player Travis Hunter is working his way back to the field and has undergone a physical transformation in the process. Hunter is known for his prowess as a wide receiver and cornerback, with many questioning if he can efficiently do both at a high level in the NFL.

In an interview with Ryan O’Halloran of Jacksonville.com, Hunter addressed it all and downplayed those doubting his ability to play both offense and defense.

“Nah, it didn’t bother me, They’ve been (talking about) that my whole career.”

Meanwhile, during his rehab, he’s worked to become stronger and better prepared to return to the field once his recovery concludes.

“I feel a lot stronger. It was me going in (the weight room) and getting my overall body right and just getting in shape. I couldn’t run, so (the weight room) was my best friend and being able to let out some of the anger because I (didn’t) have my two feet.”

Before his injury, Travis Hunter was having a stellar rookie campaign. In seven games played, he totaled 28 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown. On defense, he racked up 15 total tackles, with 11 of them solo tackles. His two way wizardry is what earned him acclaim during his time in college, both at Jackson State and then Colorado.

Now, he looks to prepare himself for the grind as he pushes to get back on the field with his team.

“I got to get back on the field first. I’m excited to just be able to get back on the field and work with the guys.”
