Travis Hunter Jr. will have his father with him in the green room at the 2025 NFL Draft.

Travis Hunter Sr. was granted permission by the courts to travel to Green Bay for the event, according to a report by The Palm Beach Post. Hunter Sr., who lives in Boynton Beach where his son was raised, is scheduled to leave West Palm Beach the day before the draft and ordered to return Friday, the day following the first round, according to court documents.

Hunter Sr., 39, was sentenced to 90 days in late September 2024 stemming from a 2023 arrest on gun and drug charges. He was released from the Palm Beach County West Detention Center in Belle Glade nine days before the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York but was unable to attend. He was placed on a three-year period of probation and ordered to complete the first year under home confinement, according to the report.

Hunter Sr. will be held to the hotel when he's not at Lambeau Field for the event. Nonetheless, an outstanding break to be there with his son for one of the biggest moments in his young career.

Hunter Jr. broke out in tears during part of his Heisman speech to his father.

"I want to say something to my father," Travis Jr. said to the ESPN cameras. "He's not here and wasn't able to make it but I know you're watching on TV. Dad, I love you. For all the stuff you went through man … Now look at your oldest son. I did it for you, man.

Hunter Jr. put up one of the best seasons in college football history at receiver and cornerback. He's expected to be selected in the first three picks of the draft and likely to the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 overall on Thursday night (8 p.m. ET/TV: NFL Network).
