Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he's eligible for the Hall of Fame.
He's arguably the best tight end in NFL history, having won three Super Bowls and compiling 1,004 receptions for 12,151 yards and 80 touchdowns. He's one win away from his fourth Super Bowl on Sunday when the Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
Kelce continues to make more of a case for being the undisputed best tight end of all time, and when he was asked about that, he downplayed it. He confirmed that he'd rather share so many great moments with his teammates.
"I used to really, really care about that. I used to want to be known as the greatest tight end ever. I think it's more about sharing these moments with my teammates," Kelce said, via Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports. "I've gotten away from known as that. I think I just want to be known as one of the best teammates these guys have ever had."
Fans on social media can't stop gushing about this answer.
"This statement alone might just make him the GOAT," one tweet read.
"Aww Travis and you know what? He's achieved that. Everyone only has the nicest things to say about him," another fan tweeted.
"He is so….a walking green flag of a human being," another tweet read.
"I’ve heard dozens of past and current teammates talk about him. Mission accomplished," another fan tweeted.
Kelce will go for his fourth Super Bowl ring this Sunday when Super Bowl LIX gets going at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX. A win would also give the Chiefs their fifth Super Bowl in franchise history, putting them one behind the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers for the most in NFL history.
