With the new season less than a week away, the Chiefs were busy training when Kelce and Swift broke the news about their engagement. Kelce’s teammates weren’t aware that he was going to propose to the most famous woman in the world.

Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna’s reaction was priceless.

Man, I don’t know nothing… When I heard it, I was caught off guard. But it’s great for them. Man, that’s a blessing. Anytime you find that type of joy, happiness, and love, that’s a beautiful thing.

I’m extremely happy for them. I am not going to get too much more into their personal life but just know that I’m extremely happy for them and I’m sure everybody is. It’s a beautiful thing.

Later, Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, disclosed that his son proposed to Swift in the garden at his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. After recording the podcast episode, Kelce kneeled down on one knee and popped the question.

They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great… They’re just two young people very much in love, cast in a spotlight that they really haven’t sought but kind of followed with their success in their respective fields.

Kelce’s mother, Donna, changed the cover photo of her Facebook profile. She uploaded a collage photo from Travis and Taylor’s childhood with the caption: “They are getting married.”

The college football season kicked off last week with Iowa State recording its first points of the year with a win over Kansas State in Ireland. On Thursday, Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium hosted Dylan Raiola’s Nebraska and Kelce’s old college team, the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Naturally, the 35-year-old was also present to see the current crop of Bearcats in action. He sat down next to his new fiancee, Taylor Swift, in the VIP suite. They were accompanied by several Chiefs players, including running back Isiah Pacheco.

Nebraska won the game 20-17. Raiola threw 2 touchdowns on 33 completions for 243 yards.

In the next couple of days, Kelce, along with his teammates, will be in Brazil for the 2025 opening day fixture against divisional rivals the Los Angeles Chargers.
