It wasn’t the ending the Kansas City Chiefs had hoped for, as their bid for a historic three-peat ended with a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Despite the loss, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made history, setting a new NFL record with 35 Super Bowl receptions across his five career appearances in the big game.

Travis Kelce entered the game needing just three catches to surpass NFL legend Jerry Rice and finished with four.

On Wednesday, during his and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast, "New Heights," they discussed it.

While Jason Kelce praised him for it, telling his brother, "Trav, that’s a big record," Travis Kelce didn’t seem too impressed.

"It's not a very big record...," Travis Kelce said. "I have a lot of Super Bowl appearances... What do they say? Records are meant to be broken... That's the last thing that I care about right now."

Travis Kelce is widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history. He holds numerous other records, including the most career postseason receptions, the most 100+ yard receiving games in the playoffs, the most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons by a tight end, among many others.

While setting another record adds to his already legendary career, he cares more about team success. Right now, he’s still processing the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss just a few days ago.
