Troy Aikman Exposes Cowboys Front Office Failures
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talks with former quarterback Troy Aikman before a game against the Los Angeles Chargers Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

Dallas Cowboys legend and three-time Super Bowl champion Troy Aikman is exposing the franchise's front office failures. The Cowboys have long received criticism because of owner and general manager Jerry Jones' constant meddling in personnel decisions.

Criticism and concerns about the team's front office resurfaced earlier this year when it was revealed that Aikman was hired by the Miami Dolphins as a consultant to help advise on personnel decisions. Aikman also helped the team search for a new general manager after the team parted ways with Chris Grier.

When it was first revealed that Aikman was helping the Dolphins in their search, Cowboys Nation all had the same question: "Why haven't the Cowboys used Aikman as a resource?

As it turns out, the Cowboys and Jerry Jones never even reached out, which may be one of the biggest front office failures to date. Aikman recently shared the news during an interview with All DLLS.

"I think the Dolphins were wise in understanding my relationships around the league and knowing that I have information that they don't have or can't get," Aikman said. "And I think they were smart in taking advantage of that, whether it was through me or through somebody else.

"The Cowboys have never elected to do that, at least with me. Maybe they have with others, but I don't feel there's a conflict. But I will say I'm pulling for the Dolphins because now I have something at stake."

That is a gut punch for Cowboys fans. Aikman would be an incredible resource for the team, and his understanding of the game, along with players and coaches around the league, would provide valuable insight that they just can't get from inside their bubble at The Star.

Former Cowboys wide receiver Jesse Holley also ripped the Cowboys for not reaching out to Aikman.

It's disappointing to see that the front office is not exploring all options when it comes to listening to voices to improve the team's performance on the field... especially when that help could come from a three-time Super Bowl champion who was part of the team the last time it reached an NFC Championship and/or raised a Lombardi Trophy 30 years ago.

Let's hope that Jerry Jones can see the reaction to comments from Aikman, and realize that it's best to listen to voices from people who don't have the last name Jones.
