The stage was set for Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love to be the stars in a mentor vs. mentee instant classic on Sunday Night Football — Packers’ tight end Tucker Kraft had other plans.
Kraft stole the spotlight with a career-best performance that included seven receptions for 143 yards and two touchdowns. The 7th annual “National Tight End Day” concluded with a simple narrative: Tucker Kraft is the best tight end in football.
The Green Bay tight end has made a statement during the 2025 season. Kraft is leading the league in yards per game among tight ends and is tied for second in receiving touchdowns. He has accomplished this despite remaining outside of the top-15 tight ends in routes run.
Kraft’s breakout season has vaulted him into discussions as one of the best players in the NFL.

The emerging star has finally begun to receive the recognition he deserves. A significant reason for that is his added involvement in the Green Bay passing game.
However, Kraft’s advanced abilities as a blocker have previously limited his opportunities as a pass catcher. Green Bay simply can’t afford to forfeit the value Kraft provides as a blocker. Despite his emergence as one of Jordan Love‘s favorite weapons, Kraft remains a critical component of a Packers team that runs the ball at one of the highest rates in the NFL.
Kraft’s involvement in the run game is apparent, but his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands cannot be ignored.
The Packers’ tight end is leading the team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs through seven games. A large portion of that production stems from his ability to run with the ball in his hands. Kraft is dominating his position group by averaging 1.3 yards after catch more than any other tight end in football.
Tucker Kraft is playing at a level that few players have ever reached. Beyond that, he is proving to be one of the most entertaining personalities in football.
He doesn’t have the elite history of George Kittle or Mark Andrews, and he isn’t engaged to a world famous pop star like Travis Kelce. Instead, Kraft shows up every week like a small town kid that is finally living out his dream, and that is exactly what he is.
The former South Dakota State Jack-Rabbit brings an energy to the field that can’t be beat. Kraft’s aura is bleeding into the Packers’ fan base as his recent declaration “I do this” begins to take hold.
The Packers’ tight end is non-replaceable, both as a player, and as a person.
“I DO THIS”
Tucker Kraft might just be the best player in the NFL at this point. I don’t make the rules.
