It’s August, and that means the NFL season is right around the corner. While it does come with unbridled excitement, it also brings breath-holding over the unfortunate injuries that come with the sport of football. We have already seen Safety Coby Bryant be sidelined for 8-10 weeks, and now we wait for injury news regarding Tackle Braxton Jones and Defensive End Montez Sweat of the Chicago Bears, who both left Thursday’s practice early.

Braxton Jones

Jones has reportedly been taking the majority of snaps as the first-team left tackle, seemingly taking control of that position race. Unfortunately, Jones has suffered an undisclosed injury, with the severity also unclear at this time. We do have reports stating that Jones is believed to have dodged a serious injury; however.

Montez Sweat

Thursday also saw Chicago’s sack leader from the past three seasons leave practice early. The type of injury and severity are unclear at this time.

Thursday also saw a pair of Defensive Backs suffer injuries as Dallis Flowers and Gervarrius Owens both required help off the practice field.

As we await news regarding the severity and nature of these injuries, Bears fans certainly hope for the best-case scenarios and speedy recoveries for all injured players.
