An unfortunate set of circumstances has reportedly led to a pair of NFL players getting hurt ahead of 1 PM kickoff on Sunday.
According to reports, two members of the Indianapolis Colts ended up suffering injuries prior to Week 6 's game vs. the Arizona Cardinals — which left both of them inactive for the interconference clash.
Indianapolis has gotten off to a 4-1 start behind some outstanding offensive play from an unlikely source in Daniel Jones. But it doesn't seem that luck extended into Sunday's pregame activities as the Colts' team got loose.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, Colts Pro Bowl cornerback Charvarius Ward suffered a concussion while warming up against the Cards; while backup QB Anthony Richardson also was listed as out after injuring his eye doing resistance band work.
Richardson's injury bumped former Duke/Notre Dame star Riley Leonard to the primary backup spot, while Indy's defense will look to make due without their starting corner on the left side.
The Colts were already down veteran nickel back Kenny Moore II who's currently dealing with an Achilles issue. Fans couldn't believe the team's poor injury luck ahead of Sunday's game.
"Richardson hurts his eye, Ward is concussed. What in the world where the Colts doing in warmups today?" Alex Kozora asked.
"I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this before," Jemele Hill replied.
"How exactly does this happen in pregame?" another user asked.
"Did him and Anthony Richardson get in a fight or something, his eye Injury and Ward concussion sound like some blows was thrown," a fan commented.
"Some of the stuff that happens in the nfl today is just nuts lol," another person laughed.
"How did we get multiple players injured in warmups were we throwing a kegger," an Indy fan wondered.

It's definitely pretty rare to see a pair of teammates do down with injuries before the ball is even kicked off. But the Colts will look to overcome the adversity and start up another win streak while hosting Arizona at Lucas Oil Stadium.
