The Indianapolis Colts received an injury scare involving star tight end Tyler Warren during Wednesday’s practice as the team continues preparing for the 2026 season.
Warren went down while running a route during an 11-on-11 period and appeared to have an issue around his groin. The Athletic’s James Boyd reported the development on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“#Colts TE Tyler Warren went down on a route in 11-on-11. Got up clutching at his groin area. He’s now on the sideline not practicing. Talking to a trainer.”
Boyd later provided another update as Warren left the practice field.
“#Colts TE Tyler Warren walked off with a trainer. Noticeable limp.”
The immediate severity of Warren’s apparent injury remains unclear, but the sight of the 24-year-old leaving with a limp will be concerning for Indianapolis given his importance to the offense.
Warren quickly established himself as one of the Colts’ top offensive weapons during an impressive rookie season in 2025. The tight end finished with 76 receptions for 817 yards and four touchdowns across all 17 games. He averaged 10.8 yards per reception while drawing 112 targets.
His production made him a significant part of Indianapolis’ passing attack and raised expectations entering his second NFL season.
The Colts will now await further clarity on Warren’s status as they continue through the preseason. Indianapolis is scheduled to face the Atlanta Falcons in its next preseason matchup Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
