Tyson Bagent turns heads with bold Chicago Bears declaration
Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent (17) gestures against the Los Angeles Chargers in the first half.

Tyson Bagent signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted rookie in 2023. The quarterback has only played in 12 career NFL games but continues to be part of the roster as the QB2.

He appeared in three matchups last season, completing 3-of-4 passes for 47 yards. Bagent’s contributions may be limited. However, the work he puts in during practices has been important. The Shepherd product provides the team with insurance at the quarterback position and serves as a capable passer behind Caleb Williams.

Bagent beat the odds by making the final roster three years ago. He also made history on Oct.22, 2023, by becoming the first Division II undrafted rookie quarterback to start an NFL game since 1950.

Tyson Bagent confident that Chicago Bears will win the 2027 Super Bowl

Bagent is full of confidence in the Bears. He appeared on “The REKAP” podcast on Wednesday and declared that he and his team will win the 2027 Super Bowl.

“The winner of the 2027 Super Bowl will be the Chicago Bears,” Bagent said. “I won’t even build it up. I already promised my girl, my dad and my daughter. Valentine’s Day, we will be at the Super Bowl. So it’s happening this year.”

Fans had mixed reactions to the 25-year-old’s bold take.

“I approve this message #gobears,” one fan said

“won’t even be in playoffs,” a comment read.

“I claim this! Let’s speak this into existence,” a user commented.

“I’ve been thinking about that every single year since I was a kid in 85. It might take a lifetime of utter disappointment but you’ll figure it out eventually,” another read.

“This dude bout to let a lot of people down,” a user wrote.

“Facts LFG,” posted another.

The Los Angeles Rams defeated Chicago 20-17 in overtime in the Divisional Round last season, putting an end to a memorable campaign for the Bears. The team filled some gaps through free agency and the draft to strengthen its lineup.

It remains to be seen if Bagent’s claim will come into fruition. However, the Bears have shown that they can compete and could take the next step next season.
