'Ultimate Respect': Tom Brady Compares NFL Star To Randy Moss

Two decades of NFL football allowed Tom Brady to play with and against some of the best pass catchers of his generation. But there's one player currently active that he believes draws a comparison to the legendary Randy Moss.

In a recent video, Brady answered a fan's question on "Which current receiver would you most want to throw to?" After narrowing it down to Cincinnati Bengals star Ja'Marr Chase and Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson, B rady declared that he would pick Jefferson.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner listed off all of the things that Jefferson does well and concluded that Jefferson reminded him of Moss.

"Couple tough choices out there... but I'm saying Justin Jefferson. He can do everything from any spot on the field. He goes deep, he goes short, catch the ball, catch and run, touchdowns, third down. He's a ridiculous player. He reminds me so much of my former teammate and Viking Randy Moss. So if it comes down to choosing only one, he would be the one right now."

Reaction

NFL fans were a bit mixed on Brady's remarks on Jefferson. While many acknowledge that he's a great wide receiver, a lot were highly critical of Jefferson's lackluster touchdown numbers:

"I've been saying this... he’s by far the best receiver in the league... imagine if he had a top 3 QB throwing to him," one fan lamented.

"He said touchdowns but Jettas doesn’t score touchdowns," another remarked.

"Except Jefferson can't take a screen to the house," a third said.

Then there were the Bengals fans who were furious that Brady would rank Jefferson over Chase in the first place:

"I’ll take Chase who literally does everything he described but slightly better."

"Ja’Marr is better in regards to all of the traits he listed about Jettas lol."

"So Chase doesn't do all that?"

You'll never be able to please everyone with any opinion. About the only thing that NFL fans agree on these days is that Tom Brady is the best of all-time. That's pretty much it though.

Randy Moss' Legacy

You'll be hard-pressed to find a ranking of all-time NFL wide receivers that doesn't include Moss near the top. He was a dominating force in his first seven years with the Minnesota Vikings before a slight donut-hole of a run with the Oakland Raiders between 2005 and 2006.

But upon joining Brady's New England Patriots in 2007, he quickly formed one of the greatest passing combinations the NFL had ever seen. His 23 touchdown receptions that season set an NFL record and were a big reason the Patriots became the only 16-0 regular season team in history.

Moss retired with 156 receiving touchdowns. Only Jerry Rice has more.
