Unconventional Super Bowl props worth a bet

With Super Bowl Sunday comes a prop bet menu that you don't see on a typical NFL Sunday.

This is very much intentional. Since betting has come out of the shadows, it's well-documented that the Super Bowl is the most heavily bet event of the year.

There are novelty props and game props you don't see very often, and they can be a fun to put a few dollars down on.

Don't get it twisted, sportsbooks want you betting on these novelty props. They offer many options and are putting these out for profit.

I love these fun bets, but it's important you acknowledge that and bet responsibly.

Here are my five favorite unconventional props for Super Bowl LVI.

Any Kick to Hit Uprights (+400 DraftKings)

To root for a doink is quite an experience from your living room, but if this were to hit, you may just call it a night then and there.

Kickers hitting a field goal attempt off the post is common enough, and at +400, it's worth consideration.

Both the Rams and Bengals have had high-volume kicking games recently and should see multiple kicking attempts on Sunday.

This is a fun one that I'm OK betting on at +400.

Will There Be an Octopus? (Yes +1400 on DK)

No, not a real octopus. I had to Google what this means when I saw it on DraftKings, but an Octopus in football is referred to as a sequence in which a player scores a touchdown and scores a two-point conversion on back-to-back plays.

I won't pretend to have any data to support a bet like this, but it makes the list of noteworthy props simply because I've never even heard of it.

Will There Be a Pick-Six? (Yes +500 on DK)

I actually like this one. I wrote in my same game parlay article that I believe Matthew Stafford will throw an interception against this swarming Bengals defense.

Why not root for a house-call? This bet surely isn't limited to the Bengals defense. The Rams have one of the best defenses in the NFL and could pick off Joe Burrow in a game I expect him to be throwing plenty.

Betting on the Correct Score (+8000 and Better on DK)

Obviously, this is a silly bet. For reference, I put $1 on my favorite score, but at +9000, it's worth a shot.

You can peruse DraftKings and basically choose any final score combination you want. I went with Rams 24-20 — it was calling my name. No science here at all.

I also bet on the Bengals winning 27-24 at +9000.

You never know!

Opening Kickoff to Be a Touchback? (Yes -108 on FanDuel)

We'll wrap with a bet that will be determined immediately. You can bet on the result of the first kickoff being a touchback or not.

I'll take yes here, the slight favorite. I just think whoever kicks off is going to have so many emotions coursing through his veins that he'll boot the ball out of the end zone.

There are countless more bets you can place a wager on, so explore your sportsbook today, and find any that seem fun. Just bet responsibly.

Enjoy the Super Bowl!
