Unexpected Odell Beckham Jr. News Emerges After Tom Brady Development
© Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Odell Beckham Jr.’s NFL journey has been defined by highlight-reel catches, a Super Bowl victory, and a string of injuries that clouded what could have been an even greater career. At 32, the three-time Pro Bowler is without a team after the Miami Dolphins released him in December 2024.

His stint in Miami ended quietly, with just nine receptions for 55 yards in nine games, marking the first season of his career without a touchdown. Despite that, Beckham has made it clear he has no plans to retire, recently shutting down speculation about walking away from football. As questions linger about his next NFL opportunity, Beckham has surfaced in headlines for a move few would have expected.

UK-based Ballers League recently announced its first U.S. edition, with YouTube star iShowSpeed serving as league president. The league is a fast-paced version of soccer, closer to street football or futsal than traditional 11-on-11 play.

Via an announcement on Instagram, Beckham was unveiled as one of the new team owners, alongside other collaborators.

The Ballers League has grown rapidly overseas, and its expansion into the United States—with a high-profile athlete like Beckham involved—is poised to give the project extra credibility and attention.

The news comes amid another headline involving Beckham. On Monday, NFL legend Tom Brady announced he will be participating in the upcoming Fanatics Flag Football Classic. The event is set for March 21, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of “Riyadh Season.” According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brady will be joined by Beckham, Rob Gronkowski, Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, Sauce Gardner, Myles Garrett, and Tyreek Hill in what is expected to be a landmark international showcase for the sport.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s NFL Status Still Unclear

Beckham’s latest project arrives while his NFL status remains uncertain. Last season in Miami was the least productive of his career, and despite rumors of a possible retirement, Beckham has insisted he remains open to the possibility of another NFL opportunity.

Beckham has logged 10 seasons in the NFL, beginning his career with the New York Giants, where he played four years before joining the Cleveland Browns in 2019. He was released midway through the 2021 campaign, paving the way for a move to the Los Angeles Rams, where he played a key role in their Super Bowl victory that same season.

Following an ACL injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022 season, Beckham returned in 2023 with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the Dolphins the following year.
