USC Star Jordan Addison Receives Speedy 4.28 Competition in New Mock Draft

Addison, in return, gains a new defender to practice against. Plus welcome the speed-versus-speed challenges during training camp and before game day. 

The 2023 Trojans star blazed his own 40 in 4.49 during his NFL Combine workout. Minnesota still took him at No. 23 overall. Addison later responded by delivering 10 touchdowns in his rookie season. He also finished with 70 catches for 911 yards. 

Addison then developed new chemistry with another past Trojans legend in Sam Darnold. He caught 63 passes for 875 yards and scored nine touchdowns while earning passes from the first-year Vikings quarterback. Darnold went on to enjoy his first-ever Pro Bowl season in Minnesota. 

Darnold can also face new CB competition by training camp. But only if he ends up re-signing with the Vikings. Darnold is a free agent this month. Minnesota already chose to avoid placing the franchise tag on him, which allows Darnold to test the free agent market. 

Hairston, meanwhile, is attempting to pursue his NFL career after a shoulder injury in 2024. That ailment sidelined him for five games. The 5-foot-11, 183-pound CB still broke up four passes. He's a slender outside CB option capable of playing multiple zone and man coverage looks. He'll also come to the league having faced the best competition in the Southeastern Conference. 

Now his new practice competition could be All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson and the past USC star Addison if drafted by Minnesota come April 24.
