Sophia and Michael Wilson officially formed one of the most dynamic couples in sports in January when the U.S. women's national soccer team star and Arizona Cardinals receiver got married in January.
Two months later, the couple made another big announcement: they are expecting a third member of their family.
The Wilsons posted a pregnancy announcement to Instagram on Wednesday, with Sophia sharing a slideshow of photos that included a sonogram and a "life just keeps getting sweeter " caption
The Wilsons met at Stanford, where they both played collegiately.
Then named Sophia Smith, she scored 24 goals across 2018-19 (where she won two Pac-12 championships and an NCAA title) before going pro with the Portland Thorns. She also scored three goals in the 2024 Paris Olympics as the USWNT won gold. In March 2024, she signed a two-year extension with Portland that made her the highest-paid player in the NWSL and includes an option for 2026.
Michael Wilson racked up 1,662 yards from 2018-22 with the Cardinal before the Cardinals selected him in the third round of the 2023 draft. He has started 25 games across his first two NFL seasons, with 85 receptions, 1,113 yards and seven touchdowns to his name.
The Wilsons are the latest in a line of sports power couples. Fellow USWNT star Julie Ertz and Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz actually got engaged at Stanford University, where Zach played collegiately.
There's also 23-time gold medalist gymnast Simone Biles and Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, who were the darlings of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
