Don't expect Kirk Cousins to receive a Viking funeral this season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Vikings quarterback is not expected to waive his no-trade clause prior to the trade deadline on Oct. 31.
Vikings’ QB Kirk Cousins is expected to remain in Minnesota this season and will not look to waive the no-trade clause in his contract — short of changing unforeseen circumstances.https://t.co/pVBqYnCiGo

Schefter adding that Cousins won't waive his no-trade clause "short of changing unforeseen circumstances" leaves open the possibility that he could still move. However, with a little more than two weeks to go until the deadline, time is running out for Cousins to change his mind.
Minnesota (1-4) is mired in a highly disappointing season following its NFC North title in 2022. The Vikings used all their good luck last season, going 11-0 in one-score games. This season, all four of their losses have been by one score.
It hasn't been Cousins' fault, however. In fact, he's having one of his best seasons, which has increased the speculation that he could be on the move. Contending teams including the Falcons and Jets could use Cousins, for example.
He leads the league with 13 touchdown passes and is completing 67.2%of his attempts, his highest mark since 2020. Cousins' job will be more challenging for the next four weeks and possibly longer.
Wide receiver Justin Jefferson is on injured reserve and could miss more than the four games he must.
Doctors believe Justin Jefferson's hamstring injury will sideline the Minnesota Vikings’ star for four to six weeks, and the All-Pro receiver will undergo imaging tests in four weeks to help determine when he can return, per sources.https://t.co/du45ac924A

At this point, the Vikings might wish they could move on from Cousins so they can hit a hard relaunch. The team is at his mercy because it gave him a no-trade clause, giving it no one to blame but itself.
Minnesota made its bed and will have to lie with the results.
