The Minnesota Vikings had multiple assistants get interviews accross the National Football League. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores was the biggest assistant that the Vikings had get interviews, but he was ultimately not offered a head coaching job. The only one that did take a job elsewhere was assistant offensive coordinator/assistant quarterbacks coach Grant Udinski , who accepted the Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator job.

Upon his departure, the Vikings were in the market to replace him and they found their guy. The Vikings have hired New Orleans Saints offensive assistant Jordan Traylor to replace Udinski as the assistant offensive coordinator/assistant quarterbacks coach.

Vikings hire Jordan Traylor to replace Grant Udinski

Traylor is only 31 years old, but he has an impressive resume already. A native of Gilmer, Texas, Traylor is the son of UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor and played for him at Gilmer High School before playing four years of college football.

He started his head coaching career with two years at Texas before spending year at Arkansas in 2018. He had a two year gap before joining the New Orleans Saints in 2021.

A really intriguing tidbit about Traylor's status was that new Saints head coach Kellen Moore opted to keep Traylor on his staff just five days ago. Instead, Traylor will join O'Connell's staff for the 2025 season.

Now that the staff is mostly finalized, the Vikings can put all of their focus toward free agency and the NFL Draft.
