To say that Kyler Murray's debut with the Minnesota Vikings didn't go as planned wouldn't tell half the story.
The former No. 1 pick threw an interception on his very first pass with his new team, and he managed three completions on five attempts for 18 yards before suffering a concussion.
Carson Wentz lead the team to an impressive late-game comeback, though the Vikings likely want to see a larger sample size from Murray before making any changes at quarterback. That is, if Murray is able to take the field.
Speaking on "Good Morning Football," NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Murray was spotted in good spirits despite the apparent concussion.
“He was spotted in the locker room after the game, according to Kevin O'Connell, in good spirits. That is a good sign,” said Rapoport.
“Every player recovers from a concussion differently, and every concussion is different, so we just do not know as of right now how quickly Kyler Murray is going to progress in the NFL's concussion protocol,” he added.

If Murray does have to miss time, the Vikings should at least be encouraged by what they saw from Wentz in relief of Murray in Week 1.
Wentz threw three touchdowns and no interceptions. Next up for the Vikings are the Chicago Bears, a team that gave up 37 points to Bryce Young's Carolina Panthers in the season opener.
Wentz is erratic and volatile, but he's also one of the most experienced backups in the game, and the arm talent has always been there.
So, even if Murray is cleared, they might want to err on the side of caution with this one.
