Vikings loss snaps Kirk Cousins' touchdown streak

Entering Sunday, Kirk Cousins held the active streak for most consecutive games played with a touchdown thrown (39), per Stathead.

The Cowboys put an end to the streak in a dominant 40-3 win. Dallas was 12-of-17 on third downs and Minnesota was 1-11. The Cowboys finished with 458 yards of offense and allowed 183.

Cousins' streak began on Sep. 27, 2020 against the Tennessee Titans.

His active touchdown streak wasn't the most important streak that ended on Sunday. The team entered the game winners of seven in a row and felt great. The blowout loss squashed the good vibes and served as an embarrassment in other ways.

CBS took the game off the airwaves before the fourth quarter due to it being non-competitive and the 37-point loss means the Vikings have been outscored on the season.

With Cousins' streak coming to an end, the new active streak holder is Cincinnati's Joe Burrow (17 games), who was coincidentally in the game CBS switched to from Dallas-Minnesota. The Bengals (6-4) defeated Pittsburgh (3-7), 37-30.

After Burrow, Patrick Mahomes (15 games) is next in line. Surprisingly, Saints QB Andy Dalton (13 games) is third in the active streak, followed by Aaron Rodgers (10 games) and another Saints QB, Jameis Winston (8 games).
