Vikings revise Isaiah Rodgers' contract before Week 1

The Vikings are reportedly revising the contract of starting cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Saturday.

The Vikings are revising the contract of CB Isaiah Rodgers, converting playtime incentives (up to $1.5M) to signing bonus as a nod to his status as a proven starter. It will also create additional cap room, per sources.

Rodgers is set to pay the 2026-27 season on the final year of a two-year, $11 million contract. His playtime incentives (up to $1.5M) are being converted to signing bonus “as a nod to his status as a proven starter”, according to Fowler’s report. The move is expected to create some cap space as well.

Rodgers joined the Vikings last season as a free-agent after one season with the Eagles, and three with the Colts. He finished last season with 66 total tackles, one interceptions and a 73.8 defensive grade, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).

At 28-years old, he has proven himself as a well-beyond average starting cornerback in the NFL, and the Vikings are rewarding him with a little more money this fall. Minnesota will open the season on Sunday against Green Bay.
