The Vikings have signed outside linebacker Kenny Dyson, who is coming off a strong season with the Houston Gamblers in the United Football League.
To make room on the 90-man roster, they waived OLB Arden Walker, who signed as an undrafted rookie in the spring and played 17 defensive snaps in Saturday’s preseason opener. Walker played collegiately at Missouri and Colorado.
Dyson, 25, played FCS football at Bryant University (in Rhode Island) from 2019-23. He recorded 24.5 sacks and 34 total tackles for loss over his final three seasons. Dyson went undrafted in 2024 and signed with the Carolina Panthers, where he spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad but did appear in two regular season games.
After being waived by the Panthers in 2025, Dyson spent this spring in the UFL. Across ten games with Houston, he had 4.5 sacks, seven total TFL, and 38 QB pressures on 196 pass rush snaps. PFF gave him an 86.4 pass rush grade.

A native of Stamford, CT, Dyson is listed at 6’3″ and 235 pounds. He’ll wear No. 54 with the Vikings. Dyson, who tried out for the Vikings on Sunday, will look to stand out over the next two weeks and perhaps earn a spot on Minnesota’s practice squad.
Here’s what the Vikings’ depth chart looks like at outside linebacker, not including Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (listed as a DT) or Jake Golday (inside linebacker).
