The NFL began a new “Rivalries” alternate uniform series last season, and the Vikings officially revealed their look for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday.

The new look features an all-purple look with purple pants, jerserys and helmets. White jerseys with a gold facemask and a gold stripe down the helmet are meant to be an ode to the ancient Viking culture.

“The Vikings Rivalries uniform is the embodiment of the North. More than a place, the North is a mindset. A standard. A way of life shaped by resilience, unity and a readiness to rise to the occasion, forged by the Vikings of the past and reflected in who we are today,” the team wrote in a release.

“Ancient Viking warriors wore practical armor for everyday conflict. But for their most significant battles, they donned their finest regalia, choosing their most valuable, meaningful and symbolic pieces as a reflection of the importance of the moment.”

Minnesota will wear its uniforms when it hosts the Detroit Lions for an NFC North battle on Sunday, Dec. 20, at U.S. Bank Stadium, which is currently scheduled for the Sunday Night Football slot on NBC.
