The season is really in the swing of things, and the waiver wire is more important than ever. Omarion Hampton just went on IR, the Cowboys are still figuring out their wide receiver rotation with Ceedee Lamb out, and there are options on the waiver wire. Let’s take a look at the top options ahead of Week 6 to win a fantasy football championship.

Waiver Wire Pickups Week 6 – Chargers Running Backs Headline

Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins – Los Angeles Chargers Running Backs

It’s unclear how this backfield will shake out with Hampton and Harris both out. Neither has cleared 50 rushing attempts in a season, and it’s more likely than not that this returns to a Greg Roman timeshare rather than a league-winning gem. They’ll each have utility, and with injuries and bye weeks piling up, there are worse options to slot in as an RB2 next week.

Kendrick Bourne – San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver

Will Brandon Aiyuk ever return from his ACL tear? Is Jauan Jennings a figment of our imagination? Is Ricky Pearsall too busy fighting crime in the streets to play football? With all of those unclear, Bourne can be anything from the sixth option in this offense to their wide receiver one, and is worth a pickup to see who is active this week.

Darnell Mooney – Atlanta Falcons Wide Receiver

Mooney’s frustrating start to the season and injuries may have moved him to the waiver wire in your league. Take a look, as he had 11 targets in Week 3, and is the number two option in this offense when relatively healthy. Week 6 will be a tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills, but Weeks 8 through 10 feature the Dolphins, Patriots, and Colts back-to-back-to-back.

Jake Tonges – San Francisco 49ers Tight End

For those who need a short-term tight end option, Tonges has utility as long as Kittle is sidelined. He has had back-to-back top-ten tight end performances and should have more of the same against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6. Tight end isn’t always a pretty position to fill; sometimes, it’s just the available guy on an offense who needs him.

Ryan Flournoy – Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver

Maybe he was a one-week wonder with Turpin and Lamb both sidelined. Maybe he showed enough to be a part of the rotation moving forward. In deeper leagues, Flournoy is worth a pickup just in case it’s the latter, and can be a desperation start if necessary.

New England Patriots Defense

For those streaming defenses, the Patriots were likely dropped for their matchup against the Bills. Now they get the New Orleans Saints, who haven’t done much of anything on offense this season. Then they get the Titans and Browns in the following weeks, so the Patriots defense is the kind you can pick up and use for almost a month.
