The Washington Football Team has a new captain, and it's likely for the best.
Rookie defensive end Chase Young has been named captain following the team's decision to remove captaincy from second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Washington tweeted a photo with Young's jersey embroidered with a "C."

Haskins was stripped of his captaincy after being photographed maskless at a strip club following a 20-15 loss to the Seattle Seahawks last weekend. He also was fined $40,000 by the team for violating COVID-19 protocols.
While Haskins is starting Sunday's game in place of the injured Alex Smith, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Washington will likely move on from the Ohio State product in 2021.
Washington's decision to name Young a captain doesn't come as much of a surprise. The 21-year-old is expected to be a staple in the team's defense for many years to come, and he's already proving why he was such a high pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
In 13 games this season, Young has three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery for a touchdown, 5.5 sacks, 27 solo tackles, eight tackles for a loss and eight quarterback hits.
