Washington Football Team quarterback Dwayne Haskins nearly engineered a fourth-quarter comeback against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. However, it wasn't enough for Ron Rivera to make him the team's starting quarterback moving forward.
Rivera confirmed after the game that Alex Smith will continue to start games for the franchise if he's healthy enough to do so.
Ron Rivera: "Alex Smith is our starting quarterback right now. If he's healthy and ready to roll, he'll start. If not, Dwayne will start."

In a 20-15 loss to the Seahawks, Haskins completed 38-of-55 passes for 295 yards and one touchdown against two interceptions. He also had three carries for 28 yards.
Washington is now 6-8 on the season and will enter Week 16 atop the NFC East standings. There's no word on if Smith will start against the Carolina Panthers. The veteran quarterback suffered a calf injury during Week 14.
