Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase may have been stat-padding late in the fourth quarter against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Leading 17-6 with 1:49 left in the game, Cincinnati threw a deep pass instead of running the ball on a 2nd-and-6 at Cleveland's 32-yard line. Chase caught the ball and scored a 32-yard touchdown.

According to Yahoo Sports, Chase became the first player in franchise history with 1,500 receiving yards in a season on the TD.
Before Sunday's 24-6 victory over the Browns, Chase had 102 receptions for 1,413 yards and 15 TD catches in 14 games. Against Cleveland, he had six receptions for 97 yards and one TD.
Burrow, meanwhile, completed 23-of-30 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns. Per The 33rd Team, he has seven consecutive games with 250-plus passing yards and three-plus TD passes, the most in NFL history.

Chase is still on his rookie contract and will play on the fifth-year option in 2025. Cincinnati should consider extending him soon.
Chase and Burrow form one of the most potent tandems in the league, which is a key reason the Bengals (7-8) are still in the playoff hunt.
