Lamb had 12 scores in 2023, third-most behind Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans and Miami’s Tyreek Hill, who both had 13 touchdowns. His 1,749 yards were second-most behind Hill, but no wide receiver had more receptions than Lamb (135) last season.
After finishing with career-high marks in targets (181), receptions, yards and touchdowns, Lamb sat out of training camp and all three preseason games in hopes of getting a new contract. The team finally signed its No. 1 receiver to a four-year, $136M contract extension on Aug. 26 with hopes that the 25-year-old receiver will match or exceed his stats from 2023.
On paper, New Orleans looked to be a formidable opponent after allowing the second-fewest yards (193) and points (10) against Carolina in Week 1, but the Cowboys are arguably a much better team than the Panthers, as Lamb demonstrated with his second-quarter score.
