Watch: Jets' Sauce Gardner follows through on promise to Aaron Rodgers

New York Jets star cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner preemptively followed through on one of his promises to Aaron Rodgers on Thursday night.

Gardner -- joined by fellow Jets standout youngsters Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson -- crafted their very own "fondue ," burning the infamous Green Bay Packers cheesehead that the Defensive Rookie of the Year wore following New York's October 2022 win at Lambeau Field. Earlier this week, Gardner tweeted that he promised to burn the attire and not to intercept Rodgers in practice if the four-time MVP joined "Gang Green" this offseason.

The defensive back said in his YouTube video that even though Rodgers has yet to join the Jets, he was going to "burn the cheesehead anyway" and that "no matter what the outcome is" the act is for "the fans who want him to become a Jet."

A group including Jets owner Woody Johnson, general manager Joe Douglas, head coach Robert Saleh, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and others flew to California to meet with Rodgers in person on Tuesday. It was reported on Thursday that there was "optimism" in the Jets organization that they were "on the brink" of acquiring Rodgers.
