There was nobody more fitting to lead the Minnesota Vikings’ final Skol chant of the regular season than Kirk Cousins.
Decked out with his famous chain and all, a shirtless Cousins got the crowd at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis hyped before the Vikings’ game Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
The Vikings’ injured quarterback, joined by his also-shirtless son Cooper, led the chants and sounded the Gjallahorn.

The four-time Pro Bowler has spoken up about wanting to play long enough to allow his children to “enjoy being a part of” his NFL career. Sunday’s moment surely qualifies as a core memory for young Cooper.
Cousins also went viral on social media last season for celebrating while similarly iced out and shirtless on the team plane (video here). The 35-year-old QB clearly went with a more conservative chain this time around.
He was ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an Achilles tear in late October. He ended his campaign with 2,331 passing yards and 18 touchdowns across eight games played.
Cousins, who is a free agent at season’s end, has spoken up about his uncertain future with the Vikings. While nothing’s guaranteed just yet, fans appeared more than willing to welcome Cousins back with open arms.
