Way-too-early 2019 NFL mock draft

The 2018 NFL Draft just finished, but some fans are already dreaming about 2019. Here's a first look at the draft prospects for next year in the way-too-early 2019 NFL mock draft.

1 of 32

1. Cleveland Browns: Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio State

The younger brother of Chargers star pass rusher Joey Bosa, Nick has followed in his brother's footsteps at Ohio State and has 13.5 sacks in two seasons. Cleveland bypassed Bradley Chubb in favor of Denzel Ward with the fourth pick in the 2018 draft, so they'll still be in the market for a defensive end next year.

2. Arizona Cardinals: Raekwon Davis, DL, Alabama

Davis is coming off a huge sophomore season at Alabama with 8.5 sacks and 69 tackles. A huge pass rusher at 6-7, Davis is yet another Crimson Tide defensive lineman likely to go in the first round.

3. Miami Dolphins: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

There were rumors the Dolphins would take a quarterback in the first round of this year's draft due to concerns about Ryan Tannehill, but they decided to address other needs. Tannehill needs to have a good 2018 season to keep the Dolphins from dipping their feet into the deep 2019 quarterback class. Lock resembles the NFL prototype scouts look for with good size and a big arm, but he made the right decision by returning to Mizzou as he works on his accuracy.

4. Cincinnati Bengals: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss

A former elite recruit at Ole Miss, Little could go as high as first overall in 2019. Cincinnati added Cordy Glenn at left tackle this offseason, but he's coming off an injury-plagued season and right tackle Jake Fisher remains a work in progress.

5. Washington Redskins: Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn

A transfer from Baylor, Stidham was excellent in his first year with the Tigers, completing more than 66 percent of his passes with only six picks in 370 attempts. Washington acquired Alex Smith this offseason and signed him to an extension, but he will be 35 entering 2019.

6. Chicago Bears: Ed Oliver, DT, Houston

Oliver has already established himself as one of the top defensive tackles in the country as a consensus All-American in his sophomore season. He has 10.5 sacks in his first two college seasons.

7. Buffalo Bills: Bryce Love, RB, Stanford

Love returned to Stanford for his senior season despite rushing for 2,118 yards last year. The speedy back has averaged an amazing 7.8 yards per carry during his career but still needs to work on his receiving skills. Bills back LeSean McCoy is still going strong, but entering his age 30 season, when running backs often fall off a cliff.

8. Indianapolis Colts: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss

The Colts avoided a mediocre wide receiver class in the first round this year despite their overwhelming need. Brown had a tremendous sophomore season on a bad Ole Miss team, finishing with 75 receptions for 1,252 yards and 11 touchdowns.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trey Adams, OT, Washington

The Bucs continue to address their defense, which had its share of issues in 2017. They'll likely have to turn their attention back to the offense next offseason, and right tackle Demar Dotson has particularly had problems staying healthy. Adams is an outstanding tackle prospect and a mammoth at 6-8.

10. New York Jets: Rodney Anderson, RB, Oklahoma

Anderson could be the centerpiece of the Oklahoma offense this season after the departure of Baker Mayfield. He had an outstanding sophomore season with 1,161 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on the ground. The Jets signed Isaiah Crowell this offseason, but he's unlikely to be the long-term answer.

11. Tennessee Titans: Christian Wilkins, DE, Clemson

Wilkins would have almost certainly been a first-round pick if he came out this year, but the big defensive tackle is returning to Clemson for another year. He has 10.5 career sacks in three seasons with the Tigers, and is a nice fit in as a defensive end in the 3-4.

12. Detroit Lions: Andraez Williams, CB, LSU

Considered the elite corner of next year's class, Williams had six interceptions in his freshman season at LSU. He's a great fit for press coverage, standing at 6-2.

13. New York Giants: Clayton Thorson, QB, Northwestern

The Giants opted to go running back with the second overall pick in this year's draft despite Eli Manning nearing age 40. They might not be able to overlook the spot for another year. Thorman hasn't put up big numbers in Northwestern's offense but did complete more than 60 percent of his passes last season and has a strong arm.

14. Denver Broncos: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

Samuel is looking to rebound in 2018 after fracturing his leg early last season. He's shown big-play ability during his time at South Carolina both as a wideout and kick returner, and the Broncos are continuing to get younger at the position with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders showing signs of age in 2017. The team spent a second rounder on Courtland Sutton this year, but will likely want even more help.

15. Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Allen, OLB, Kentucky

Mark Zerof / USA Today Sports Images

Kansas City's defense aged quickly, and they'll likely be in the market for a pass rusher in next year's draft with Dee Ford's future with the organization in doubt and Justin Houston counting substantially against the cap. Not to be confused with the Wyoming quarterback, Allen had seven sacks in each of the last two seasons.

16. Oakland Raiders: Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan

Finding more pass rush has been a desperate need for Oakland, yet the took an offensive lineman in the first round this year. Gary is developing but had a great sophomore season with 58 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

17. Seattle Seahawks: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson

A formerly elite recruit, Lawrence is a load at 6-5, 340 pounds. He had 8.5 sacks through two seasons, showing the quickness to rush the passer despite his size. Seattle still needs to rebuild their defensive line after losing Michael Bennett and Sheldon Richardson.

18. Dallas Cowboys: Montez Sweat, OLB, Mississippi State

Jerry Jones loves his pass rushers. A Michigan State transfer, Sweat had a breakout 2017 season with 10.5 sacks and should be drafted highly with another good year.

19. Carolina Panthers: Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama

Highly draft offensive tackles are familiar territory for the Crimson Tide, with their most recent being Cam Robinson last year, going 34th overall. Williams has the skills to be their next one.

20. Green Bay Packers (via Saints): Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

The Packers have two first-round picks next year after trading with the Saints. That's a perfect opportunity to find Aaron Rodgers' long-term replacement, who will be turning 36 during the 2019 season. Herbert has been extremely accurate in two seasons with Oregon, albeit with limited attempts.

21 of 32

21. Baltimore Ravens: Bennie Snell Jr., RB, Kentucky

Baltimore addressed their offense in the first round of this year's draft with Lamar Jackson and Hayden Hurst, but running back could be a need next year if Alex Collins doesn't continue to perform like he did last season. Snell has been highly productive as Kentucky's back in two years in the SEC.

22. San Francisco 49ers: Cameron Smith, LB, USC

Smith continues to develop into a tackling machine, most recently with 112 tackles in his junior season. It sounds like Reuben Foster is out of legal trouble, but the 49ers could still use more talent at linebacker.

23 of 32

23. Houston Texans: David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin

Wisconsin has been a factory for offensive linemen in the past. Edwards enters his junior season as a top tackle prospect, and Houston remains in dire need of offensive line help despite taking Martinas Rankin in the third round of this year's draft.

24 of 32

24. Atlanta Falcons: Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson

Like Christian Wilkins, Ferrell would have likely been a first-round pick had he left for the NFL this year. He returns from his junior season after making 9.5 sacks last season and has the potential to be an excellent edge rusher at the next level.

25 of 32

25. Los Angeles Chargers: Ryan Finley, QB, NC State

Finley transferred from Boise State to NC State, and has emerged as a player to watch after throwing for more than 3,500 yards and completing 65 percent of his passes in his junior season. The Chargers resisted the urge to take a quarterback in the first round of this year's draft.

26 of 32

26. Los Angeles Rams: Deandre Baker, CB, Georgia

Aqib Talib is nearing the end of his career, and it remains to be seen if the Rams will be able to afford signing Marcus Peters to an extension. Baker has five picks over the last two seasons at Georgia and is likely the best player on their defense after Roquan Smith departed.

27 of 32

27. Jacksonville Jaguars: Shea Patterson, QB, Michigan

Jacksonville signed Blake Bortles to a brief extension, but the jury is still out on his future as the starter. A transfer from Ole Miss, Patterson has been cleared to play for the Wolverines. Working with Jim Harbaugh should boost his draft stock.

28 of 32

28. Pittsburgh Steelers: Will Grier, QB, West Virginia

Grier has been tremendously productive between Florida and West Virginia. Most recently, he threw for nearly 3,500 yards and 34/12 TD/INT in 11 games for the Mountaineers last season. Pittsburgh has selected quarterbacks in consecutive drafts but have yet to spend more than a third-round pick on a signal caller.

29 of 32

29. Minnesota Vikings: Kaden Smith, TE, Stanford

Stanford has produced some very good tight ends recently, and Smith could be next. He had only 23 receptions in 2017 but had 18 yards per reception.

30. Green Bay Packers: Marvell Tell III, S, USC

Tell is coming off a breakout junior season with the Trojans, finishing with 85 tackles and three interceptions. Green Bay has continued to get younger in the secondary recently.

31. Philadelphia Eagles: Michael Jackson, CB, Miami

Jackson saw significant playing time for the first time last season and took advantage, with four interceptions. Philadelphia has a young group of corners, led by Ronald Darby, though it still remains to be seen what they have in Sidney Jones after the 2017 draftee effectively had a walk year in his rookie year due to injury.

32. New England Patriots: Easton Stick, QB, North Dakota State

New England had two first-round picks and failed to address the elephant in the room. Tom Brady is in his 40's, and as late as a week before the draft there was whispers that he was thinking about retirement. Stick was Carson Wentz's replacement at NDSU and has been an incredibly productive player.
