Week 10 NFC East predictions: Angry teams win at home

Dallas had a share of the division lead in their grasp while the Giants now find themselves grasping to field a healthy quarterback. Hello, Tommy DeVito. With Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor both on the IR, New York’s undrafted rookie QB will get his first start of the year against the Cowboys.

DeVito made his season debut in Week 8 against the Jets, completing two passes for -1 yard. He did slightly better against the Raiders last week, throwing for 175 yards and a garbage-time touchdown to Wan'Dale Robinson.

The Cowboys' third-ranked defense will have no problem with DeVito and an offense missing its leading receiver in Darren Waller. New York’s 31-year-old tight end is also on the IR with a hamstring injury.

Dallas tight end Jake Ferguson had the best game of his young career with 91 yards and a score against the Eagles last week, and will look to keep it rolling against a punch-drunk Giants team with not much left to play for.

PREDICTION: Cowboys 31-10

Washington Commanders (4-5) at Seattle Seahawks (5-3): As bad as the Giants offense played on Sunday, the Seahawks were worse, suffering their worst loss since 2017 after scoring just three points against the Ravens. 

Quarterback Geno Smith completed less than 50% of his passes for 157 yards with an interception while running backs Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III combined for just 24 yards. 

"It's tough," Smith told the Associated Press. "It sucks. We were looking forward to this matchup and I just feel like we didn't play our best football today.

On the other hand, Commanders quarterback Sam Howell is playing excellent football. Not only did the second-year quarterback find a way to beat Bill Belichick and the Patriots last week, but he’s cut down on the sacks while averaging 302 yards over his last five games.

Defensively, Seattle’s 27 sacks are tied for fifth-most in the NFL while Washington had none against New England after trading away defensive ends Montez Sweat and Chase Young. If this pattern continues, the Commanders should come up just short against an angry and embarrassed Seahawks team. 

PREDICTION: Seattle 27-24
