Week 11 fantasy football waiver wire must-adds

These three players have been relatively quiet lately, but with players like Bucky Irving, Malik Nabers and Rachaad White sitting home on byes, any one of them could carry your roster in Week 11.

1. Gus Edwards RB, Los Angeles Chargers (rostered in 17% of Yahoo leagues)

Edwards had 10 carries for a team-high 55 yards in the Chargers’ win against the Titans after missing the previous four games with an ankle injury. Only J.K. Dobbins had more attempts but neither found the end zone as little-used running back Hassan Haskins converted a goal-line carry for a TD.

Ordinarily, that carry would have gone to Edwards but the team chose to be cautious in his first game back since late September. At 6-foot-1 and 238 pounds, Edwards is no stranger to goal line work. His 13 touchdowns in 2023 were fifth-most in the league, tied with Lions running back David Montgomery.

It’s worth noting that rookie running back Kimani Vidal was inactive for Sunday’s game with Edwards back on the field. Dobbins has been uncharacteristically healthy this year but if he should miss any time, Edwards would see the bulk of the carries.

2. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, New Orleans Saints (rostered in 2% of Yahoo leagues)

Had Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase not caught 11 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns, Valdes-Scantling would have led all NFL receivers with 25.90 fantasy points in Week 10. Chase scored 55.40 fantasy points but he’s slightly less available (100% rostered) than Valdes-Scantling these days.

The latter had three receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday after catching three balls for 31 yards all season. With numbers like that, it’s easy to chalk his performance up to luck, but with teammate Rashid Shaheed out for the year with a knee injury and Chris Olave on the IR with his third concussion of the year, Valdes-Scantling could be the Saints’ de facto No. 1 receiver.

This week he’ll face an uninspired Cleveland Browns team that allowed 282 passing yards in a 27-20 loss to the L.A. Chargers, including 118 yards and a score to second-year receiver Quentin Johnson before their Week 10 bye.

3. Mike Williams, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (rostered in 18% of Yahoo leagues)

After nine uneventful games as a New York Jet, Williams was traded to Pittsburgh for a fifth-round pick at the trade deadline. He had one catch against the Commanders on Sunday but made it count with a 32-yard touchdown grab to help put the Steelers ahead with just over two minutes left in the game.

Next up will be the 7-3 Baltimore Ravens, a team averaging a league-best 440.2 yards per game on offense but allowing a league-worst 294.9 passing yards and second-most fantasy points to wide receivers (43.45) per contest.

Good luck to all fantasy players. Please check out our post-waiver suggestions later this week.
