Week 1 of the NFL Season is completed. It is time to look ahead to Week 2. Here are the Week 2 quarterback rankings for fantasy football.

Quarterback Rankings Week 2 Fantasy Football

Tier 1: The Big 4

Rank Player Opponent
1 Josh Allen New York Jets
2 Lamar Jackson Cleveland Browns
3 Jalen Hurts Kansas City Chiefs
4 Jayden Daniels Green Bay Packers

The Big 5 has become the Big 4 with the struggles of Joe Burrow in Week 1:

  • Allen and Jackson put on a show in their 41-40 Sunday Night Football matchup. These are the clear top two quarterbacks in the NFL and in fantasy football, regardless of opponent.
  • Hurts showed he could scramble for touchdowns, having two of them in Week 1. He has a Super Bowl rematch in Week 2.

Tier 2: Low-End QB1s

Rank Player Opponent
5 Justin Fields Buffalo Bills
6 Joe Burrow Jacksonville Jaguars
7 Patrick Mahomes Philadelphia Eagles
8 Kyler Murray Carolina Panthers
9 Justin Herbert Las Vegas Raiders
10 Dak Prescott New York Giants

These guys are low-end QB1s, and I feel comfortable starting any of them as my QB1 this week:

  • Fields showed why he is a great fantasy football quarterback, having tied for the second-highest score of the week. He had three total touchdowns in the Jets close loss to the Steelers. The Bills just allowed 40 points to the Ravens last week. Fire up Fields as a top-five fantasy quarterback.
  • Herbert looked fantastic against the Chiefs in Brazil, throwing for over 300 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. Fire him up as a QB1 against the Raiders this week. Herbert is an early-season MVP candidate.

Tier 3: High-End QB2s

Rank Player Opponent
11 Baker Mayfield Houston Texans
12 Bo Nix Indianapolis Colts
13 Brock Purdy* New Orleans Saints
14 Jordan Love Washington Commanders
15 Jared Goff Chicago Bears

This tier consists of the high-end QB2:

  • Nix was not good in his Week 1 start. He had three turnovers and finished with just 6.8 fantasy points. He was still a top ten quarterback last season, so there are still high expectations for him. Week 1 was a concern, but I am not losing all hope on Nix yet. Don’t overreact to just one game.
  • The Lions offense looked lost without Ben Johnson against the Packers. Now, the Lions get to face Johnson in Week 2. They still have plenty of skill players and just need time to adjust to the new coordinator.
  • Purdy was announced as questionable on Monday with injuries.

Tier 4: Superflex Options Only

Rank Player Opponent
16 Drake Maye Miami Dolphins
17 Caleb Williams Detroit Lions
18 Trevor Lawrence Cincinnati Bengals
19 Michael Penix Jr Minnesota Vikings
20 J.J. McCarthy Atlanta Falcons
21 Aaron Rodgers Seattle Seahawks
22 Geno Smith Los Angeles Chargers
23 C.J. Stroud Tampa Bay Buccaneers
24 Daniel Jones Denver Broncos

These players are options only in very deep leagues or SuperFlex leagues:

  • Rodgers turned back the clock with a four-touchdown game and no turnovers. He was a top ten quarterback this week. He provides no rushing upside, so he will need to throw for multiple touchdowns a week to repeat as a top ten quarterback.
  • Jones had one of the best performances in Week 1. The Colts scored on every one of their drives. Jones finished with 29.5 points, which was tied with Fields for the second-highest of the week. He has a much tougher matchup against the Broncos in Week 2.
