Week 4 NFL players to watch: Why Travis Kelce will dominate for second straight week

From a running back trying to prove his former team wrong to a tight end whose popularity is booming, here are the must-see players in NFL Week 4.

SUNDAY'S POST-GAME HEADLINE TODAY | 'Taylor Swift effect?'  Travis Kelce dominates in victory over Jets

Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported the 12-time Grammy winner will attend a second straight Chiefs game. Dating Swift or not, the Kansas City tight end should thrive against the Jets. Kelce is coming off his best performance of the season, making seven receptions for 69 yards and a TD in a 41-10 victory against the Bears. The future Hall of Famer is fully recovered from an early season knee injury and should play at a Pro Bowl level for the remainder of the season.

SUNDAY'S POST-GAME HEADLINE TODAY | Ex-Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott surprises against Dallas

Elliott, who starred for the Cowboys from 2016 to 2022, will face Dallas for the first time. The 28-year-old running back — released by Dallas in March — is intent on proving he's not washed up. "I think I got plenty left in the tank," he said Wednesday, per The Athletic's Jon Machota.

The Patriots RB should excel against his former team, which is surrendering 131.3 rushing yards per game, 25th in the NFL. In a sign that he might be finding his groove, Elliott rushed for a season-high 80 yards in a 15-10 win over the Jets in Week 3.

SUNDAY'S POST-GAME HEADLINE TODAY | Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence alleviates early concerns

Concerns about Lawrence continue to grow with Jacksonville off to a 1-2 start. The third-year QB has a below-average 41.4 QBR. In London, England, the 23-year-old faces a difficult matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, who have allowed the league's fourth-fewest passing yards (510).

"There's no sense of panic," Lawrence insisted Wednesday, via the team's website.

Yardbarker's Daniel Kelly, a former NFL scout, isn't bullish on the QB.

"Lawrence doesn't seem a good fit for head coach Doug Pederson's system, a conservative dink-and-dunk scheme that features a heavy dose of pass plays," he wrote.

Nevertheless, Vegas believes in the young QB, who has the ninth-best MVP odds (+2500), per OddsChecker.

SUNDAY'S POST-GAME HEADLINE TODAY | Minnesota's Justin Jefferson quiets trade chatter

After an 0-3 start, some believe the Vikings should start pondering a rebuild, dealing key pieces to acquire more draft capital. Their star wide receiver disagrees.

"I'm tired of people saying that we're looking into next season, or all of the trades and stuff like that," Jefferson said Thursday, per Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "We have a lot of games left, and we have a lot more things to accomplish."

Jefferson — the league leader in receiving yards (458) — should carry Minnesota (0-3) to a win over winless Carolina (0-3).

SUNDAY'S POST-GAME HEADLINE TODAY | Miami's Tua Tagovailoa fails to end troubles against Bills

Tagovailoa wowed in a 70-20 blowout against the Broncos in Week 3, completing 23-of-26 passes for 309 yards and four TDs. Yet don't expect an encore from the Dolphins QB in Buffalo. The 25-year-old QB is 1-4 against the Bills and has thrown more interceptions (five) than TDs (four), per StatMuse. The excellent Buffalo pass rush has logged 12 sacks, tied for second in the NFL. Miami has allowed only sack in three games.
