Week 3 of the NFL Season is in the books. It is time to look ahead to Week 4. Here are the Week 4 quarterback rankings for fantasy football. There are a lot of injuries to monitor: Jayden Daniels, Justin Fields, and Brock Purdy are all questionable, while J.J. McCarthy and Joe Burrow are out.

Quarterback Rankings Week 4 Fantasy Football

Tier 1: The Big 4

Rank Player Opponent
1 Josh Allen New Orleans Saints
2 Lamar Jackson Kansas City Chiefs
3 Jayden Daniels* Atlanta Falcons
4 Jalen Hurts Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Big 4 quarterbacks are the best of the best in fantasy football:

  • Daniels missed the Week 3 game with a knee injury and will be questionable in Week 4 against the Falcons. Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota was fantastic, scoring over 20 fantasy points in Daniels’ absence. If Mariota plays again in Week 4, he will be a viable option in fantasy lineups.
  • Hurts had three passing touchdowns for the first time since Week 17 of 2023. Yes, that is 2023, not 2024. It has been over a year since he had three passing touchdowns. He added a rushing touchdown as well and finished as the number two quarterback on the week.

Tier 2: Low-End QB1s

Rank Player Opponent
5 Patrick Mahomes Baltimore Ravens
6 Justin Herbert New York Giants
7 Jordan Love Dallas Cowboys
8 Baker Mayfield Philadelphia Eagles
9 Bo Nix Cincinnati Bengals
10 Justin Fields* Miami Dolphins

These guys are low-end QB1s, and I feel comfortable starting any of them as my QB1 this week:

  • Mahomes was great on the ground in the first two weeks, leading to two straight QB6 finishes to begin the year. He only had two rushing yards in Week 3 and finished with just 13 fantasy points. His fantasy success is tied to his rushing ability, with how much the offense is struggling.
  • Love gets a great matchup against a struggling Cowboys defense. Caleb Williams was just the overall QB1 in Week 3 against them. Fire Love up as a must-start in Week 4.
  • Nix and Fields (if he plays) both have great matchups as well and are in the top ten of the quarterback rankings.

Tier 3: High-End QB2s

Rank Player Opponent
11 Daniel Jones Los Angeles Rams
12 Kyler Murray Seattle Seahawks
13 Caleb Williams Las Vegas Raiders
14 Drake Maye Carolina Panthers
15 Geno Smith Arizona Cardinals

This tier consists of the high-end QB2:

  • Both Jones and Williams are top-four fantasy football quarterbacks on the season through three weeks. Not many people expected that. These two should be in all fantasy lineups.
  • Smith had his best day of the season, throwing for 289 yards and three passing touchdowns. He gets another good matchup against the Bears in Week 4.

Tier 4: Superflex Options Only

Rank Player Opponent
16 Carson Wentz Pittsburgh Steelers
17 Brock Purdy* Jacksonville Jaguars
18 Dak Prescott Green Bay Packers
19 Jared Goff Cleveland Browns
20 Sam Darnold Arizona Cardinals
21 Matthew Stafford Indianapolis Colts
22 Aaron Rodgers Minnesota Vikings
23 Michael Penix Jr Washington Commanders
24 Bryce Young New England Patriots

These players are options only in very deep leagues or SuperFlex leagues:

  • Wentz did a great job filling in for J.J. McCarthy and made the Vikings’ offense look good, although it was against the Bengals. He is a streaming option against a struggling Steelers defense in the Dublin, Ireland game.
  • Purdy is expected to return from injury for the Week 4 game and has a great matchup against the Jaguars.
  • Prescott and Goff receive significant downgrades this week, as they face the Packers and Browns, respectively.
