What 49ers fans can expect from Levi's Stadium renovations
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers recently completed a two-year, $200 million renovation project at Levi's Stadium, just in time for the start of the 2025 NFL season. What can fans expect to see at the venue when they attend games?

Bigger, brighter, and sharper: The NFL's largest 4K display

Headlining the upgrades are two brand-new 4K video boards, now 70% larger than the previous versions and boasting over 300% more pixels. The result is a brighter, crisper, and more vibrant viewing experience. The stadium now holds the title of largest 4K display in the NFL, giving fans unmatched views of every play, replay, and highlight.

The stadium also features high-tech LED field lights and new LED ribbon boards spanning over 55,000 square feet around the stadium. These lighting systems can now display a spectrum of colors, adding a dynamic atmosphere to celebrations and pregame entertainment.

Upgraded technology and connectivity

For fans who value a connected game day experience, Levi's Stadium now features:

  • An improved Wi-Fi network
  • A new DAS cellular network, enhancing cell coverage throughout the venue

These upgrades ensure fans can share moments, stream content, and access real-time stats without missing a beat.

Enhanced premium spaces and fan amenities

The stadium's 120+ suites have been fully renovated, offering upgraded finishes and modern designs. The 49ers Team Store has been completely remodeled, giving fans a refreshed shopping experience for official gear and memorabilia.

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond

The renovations aren't just about the upcoming NFL season — they're preparing Levi's Stadium for a historic year in 2026, when it will become the first venue ever to host both the Super Bowl and the FIFA World Cup in the same year.

Levi's Stadium has already generated over $2 billion in economic impact for Santa Clara and the Bay Area in its first decade. With Super Bowl LX and six FIFA World Cup matches on the horizon, the venue is projected to generate over $1 billion in 2026 alone.

These enhancements will extend the stadium's lifespan, ensure it remains competitive as a world-class events destination, and continue bringing major entertainment and economic benefits to the region for years to come.
