What Chargers HC Brandon Staley had to say about Patriots QB situation
Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

While the New England Patriots quarterback situation is making things hard on themselves to prepare for the weekend, it also may have one advantage.

The opposing team doesn't know what quarterback they will be facing and because of that, they need to be ready to face each and every one. And that is exactly what Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is doing.

“All three. There's a body of work on all three. We'll need to be prepared for all three," Staley said (via ESPN's Jeremy Fowler).

While Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe are two obvious ones that the Chargers are keeping an eye on, the third is Malik Cunningham.

Cunningham took some reps in practice on Wednesday behind Zappe. Because of that, it seems likely Zappe is set to get the start, but the undrafted rookie could see some time as well.

But knowing Bill Belichick, he could have anything up his sleeve. And because of that, the Chargers can't be certain who is going to start until the game begins on Sunday.

So this uncertainty can be an advantage for the Patriots, as their opponents have not one, but three quarterbacks to prepare for.

Let's see if it works to their advantage.
