The Detroit Lions have made some late moves right before their start to the 2025 NFL season, extending wide receiver Jameson Williams with a three-year, $83 million deal. The contract makes Williams a top 20 paid wideout, and will serve as a data point for what other receivers get paid in the future.

Here's a look at six wide receivers who are still awaiting their major extensions.
Pickens has already made his 2025 debut with the Dallas Cowboys. After this season, Pickens will be unrestricted free agent have the opportunity to test the market. A deal close to Jameson Williams seems somewhat likely. In four seasons, Pickens has produced 177 catches for 2,871 yards and 12 touchdowns. Williams has posted 83 catches for 1,396 yards and 10 touchdowns across three seasons.
Since entering the league, Nacua has been one of the lowest paid stars in the league. A fifth-round pick in 2023, he proved to be one of the biggest steals of the draft, going on to set rookie records for receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486).
He still has one more year under his deal before becoming a free agent, however it is likely that the Rams will want to secure him as soon as possible. His extension could rank within the top five of wide receiver deals.
In recent weeks Meyers has made it very known that he is looking for a new deal, going as far as requesting a trade. That request got denied immediately, and now the two sides seem to be at a stalemate. Meyers, who has posted 393 catches for 4,592 yards and 20 touchdowns over six NFL seasons, is looking to get paid. The Raiders, meanwhile, are attempting to shift gears from rebuilding to contending.
Contract talks between Atlanta and London have been active, however no deal has come to fruition. London is one of the best young talents in the league, coming off a 100-catch, 1,271-yard season, and will likely be seeking a deal closer to the four-year, $130 million contract Garrett Wilson signed for earlier this offseason.
Olave’s 2025 season will prove to be an important season due to his recent inability to avoid injuries. Olave posted 1,000-yard seasons in his first two years in the league but was limited to just eight games and 400 yards in 2024. New Orleans has already exercised his fifth-year option, and he will play on it this upcoming season. If he can stay healthy, a deal between the two seems very likely.
Njigba’s contract extension seems the farthest away of this group of players, due to his age and contract details. However, Seattle might want to get ahead of his contract due to his role increasing for the team. This year he steps into a WR1 role, which could give him more leverage for a bigger deal.
