Who is Going to Win Each NFL Division Title?

Playoff season is almost here. Many teams are in the driver seat to make the big dance, but what about divisional titles? Few times in its history has the NFL seen this close of a race for divisions in both conferences.

AFC North

Prediction: Steelers

Yes, even the Ravens and Steelers have dragged themselves into this race. While both these teams have struggled to live up to expectations, the Steelers have been the most disappointing. Shocking offensive performances, underwhelming defensive stands, and lackluster coaching have still put the Steelers at an 8-6 record.

The Ravens lost their crucial head-to-head against the Steelers and currently sit one game behind at 7-7. They need to win out and hope that Pittsburgh loses its next two games, as well as win their season finale against the Steelers on Jan. 4. A tough task for any team — the Ravens are one loss away from an officially disappointing 2025 showing.

AFC West

Prediction: Broncos

All eyes are on the Jaguars and Broncos Sunday afternoon. If the Broncos win this game, they will clinch the AFC West title and continue their legendary win streak to cap a powerful season. While the Chargers do hold the tiebreaker, they are currently two games behind Denver, sitting at 10-4, respectively. The Chargers would need the Broncos to lose the remainder of their games, win out, and win their matchup on January 4 to even have a chance at the divisional title.

AFC East

Prediction: Patriots

It’s too little too late for the Buffalo Bills. Winning their head-to-head matchup against the Patriots in a fiery comeback electrified fans. However, even with their tiebreaker, the Bills would need the Patriots to lose one of their final three games. Those three teams have a combined record of 16-26. Stranger things have happened, but it would be an upside-down miracle for the Bills to win the division at those odds.

AFC South

Prediction: Texans

Liam Coen has done incredible work for the Jaguars, and their team is poised for a playoff appearance. However, the Texans have been just as hot as the Jaguars and are carrying a huge amount of momentum. The Jaguars will play the Broncos on Sunday, and if they lose but win their next two, the Texans could tie by winning out.

There are numerous variables that go into tiebreakers, but the Texans would have the edge if they were to win out. Additionally,  the Jaguars have sometimes struggled to close out games against lesser opponents.

NFC North

Prediction: Packers

What happened to the Lions? The Bears and Packers play this upcoming Saturday, in a matchup that should determine the divisional title. While the Bears have proven to be a worthy contender, there is no denying that the Packers have looked like an elite-caliber team all season. Even with the loss of Parsons, the Packers have proven they are a worthy team with an outstanding quarterback.

The Bears close their season with matchups against the Packers, 49ers, and Lions. A tough three-game stretch for a team that has been turned around by Ben Johnson. The Bears will make the playoffs, but not as the division winner.

NFC South

Prediction: Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have taken a downward spiral. Starting the season off 5-1, they have gone 2-6 since that time. Eerily similar to the Steelers, this team has struggled to establish an identity. However, the Bucs were plagued by injuries for a majority of the season, which led to their blatant struggles.

The Carolina Panthers have been a dark horse all season long. A young team, filled with explosive offense and talented fronts, still needs experience. They face the Bucs twice, where Baker magic will take over. In between those games, they must face a fiery Seahawks team that will prove to be too much to handle.

NFC East

Prediction: Eagles

Really the only safe assumption of this group is that the Eagles only need a Cowboys loss to secure the NFC East. Even if the Cowboys win, the Eagles have to win against a struggling Commanders team to clinch the divisional title. Yet another disappointing season for the Cowboys and a surprising failure of the Commanders have placed the Eagles comfortably atop their division.

NFC West

Prediction: Seahawks

Win streak, win streak, and more win streaks. Undoubtedly the hardest division to pick, the Rams, 49ers, and Seahawks had a combined 10-game win streak going into last Thursday night, as well as a 32-10 record. The titans of the NFC, all three of these teams have a legitimate playoff run and a chance at a Super Bowl.

With their tremendous, unlikely comeback over the Rams on TNF, the Seahawks now control their destiny in the NFC West race. So do the San Francisco 49ers, but the Seahawks have been the better team for most of the year. They’ll find a way to pull out a win in Santa Clara.

It’s Christmas time, and the NFL Playoffs are here-it’s the best time of year.

Unless you’re a Titans fan.
