The Kansas City Chiefs saw their best wide receiver, Tyquan Thornton, go down with an injury in week four against the Las Vegas Raiders. Thornton suffered a serious ankle injury in the fourth quarter, sidelining him for 12-16 weeks. With the Chiefs receiving this news, it has led to rumors of the them possibly signing Tyreek Hill. This will reunite the Mahomes-Cheetah effect.

Tyreek Hill Back With Mahomes

The Chiefs are heavily favored to sign back Hill. He has not played since last September, when he dislocated his knee while playing for the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins went on a total rebuild in the offseason, with new coaches, a new front office, and players like Hill were released from Miami.

Hill has been circulating throughout the media that he is going to make a return to the NFL again. On Sunday, he made an X post stating he would come back to the Chiefs and that he’s ready for some cold weather. The Athletic’s Michael Silver noted that he is eyeing a November return, adding that Kansas City is expected to be interested in him.

If the Chiefs do decide to pursue Hill, he will be back with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes already has offensive weapons on his side with the Chiefs signing Kenneth Walker in the offseason from Seattle. He also has one of the best tight ends in the NFL with Travis Kelce. Now adding Hill to the mix once again will make the Chiefs an offensive powerhouse.

When Hill did play for the Chiefs, they were almost unstoppable on offense. He is called the Cheetah for a reason. He can outrun any safety in the NFL, and he had 479 receptions and 56 touchdowns with Mahomes. He was a major target in their offensive scheme.

In 2019, the Kansas City Chiefs did win the Super Bowl, beating the San Francisco 49ers. So, Hill has a Super Bowl ring with the team already. ESPN’s Steven A. Smith mentioned that it’s almost unfair: if the Chiefs do sign Tyreek Hill, they are guaranteed a Super Bowl.

A few players, such as Kelce, mentioned that he loves the Cheetah and would love to have him back in the building. Former teammates Chris Jones and Mahomes also approve of Hill returning to Kansas City. The decision will come down to Hill and the Chiefs’ front office to strike a deal. He would also have to go through a walkthrough to make sure he has a clean bill of health before hitting the field.

End Of My Tyreek Hill Rant

If the Chiefs sign Hill, I’m sure Kansas City Fans will be excited to have him reunited with Mahomes. The rest of the football world will just roll their eyes in disgust knowing that all we will hear is the Mahomes-Hill effect and how the Chiefs will go back to the Super Bowl again. It’s almost predictable and irritating, but with the Chiefs down wide receivers, Hill makes for a perfect fit.

The Chiefs are one of the three teams that are 4-0. They are the only team left in the AFC that is 4-0 at this point; the other two teams are in the NFC. the 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings.
