The Washington Commanders' offseason has been offensive-centric, with Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel signing to give Jayden Daniels some big upgrades at two important positions.
But while the Commanders are clearly on the "win-now" train, they can't have all their eyes on now; they must look towards the future too.
Considering Deebo is a one-year rental, the Commanders aren't likely planning on having Samuel stick around after 2025 (he could), and if he doesn't, who steps up?
Hence, for ESPN's Ben Solak, Washington must look at being poised to add depth to the receiver room in the draft.
"Investing in a WR3 who can replace Samuel after his contract expires next year feels wise, and if they are prioritizing YAC in that role, they should look no further than TCU -- both Jack Bech (Round 2, maybe Round 3) and Savion Williams (Round 3, maybe Round 4) are deadly with the ball in their hands," Solak writes.
Luke McCaffrey, Noah Brown, and K.J. Osborn are seen as the next tier below the stars, but right now, none have shown they can be anything more than role players.
Maybe someone like Williams, who ran a 4.48, but is also a big, strong, physical receiver who possesses great YAC potential, could be an option.
Bech is another big-bodied receiver with toughness that Quinn will appreciate while having good ball skills to develop into a third receiver option down the track.
Yes, the Commanders are loaded for the now, but they need to look towards 2026 and beyond as well, which they can do in the draft's later rounds.
