Why it’s getting harder to get excited for Cowboys game day

Look, first and foremost, I always watch the Dallas Cowboys go to battle, but when a season shapes up like this one, it becomes harder and harder to get excited for game days because we know how it’ll go, at least 95% of the time.

I am always going to root for the Cowboys to win every game a billion to nothing, but when you have a defense as bad as they do, you know the offense’s shoulders are going to be heavy each game.

What helps, though, is that yesterday was a really good day for Dallas in terms of not only the slim possibilities of the playoffs, but the draft spot for those Green Bay picks.

The Packers lost to the Panthers at the buzzer, which helps with at least one of those first round picks that the Cowboys got in the Micah Parsons deal. Nobody thought the Panthers were good when they beat Dallas, but not it will only be about how the Packers lost the game.

Give credit to Carolina.

Season On The Line

I will say that I am into this game because the season is simply on the line tonight and if they cannot beat Jacoby Brissett at home, they have more issues to worry about.

If they win this game and do not make a trade by the deadline tomorrow, what is this front office doing?

In all honesty, they should have made one at the end of last week. They did not, and here we are, watching the Eagles trade all kinds of players.

It must be so nice to see a front office member who wants to win football games.

Eagles have now made 3 trades in a week in an attempt to shore up holes and improve the defense.

Entering Week 9, the Cowboys’ playoff chances were 17.3%. Dallas already sat above the Commanders’ odds of 14.5%, though the latter was calculated to have a slightly higher probability of winning the division (likely because they have yet to play the 6-2 Philadelphia Eagles, while Dallas is 0-1 in its series).

Let’s see what happens tonight, but we know what this team is. They have to score a billion on offense to even have a chance, and Dak Prescott can’t afford another bad game because unlike other teams, the defense is not good enough to help out right now.

I think they will win this game, it probably won’t be pretty, and I do expect the Cardinals to be able to score more than they would against any other defense, but if the Cowboys lose this game, it is going to become less exciting each and every week to watch a team with a top five offense and bottom three defense.
