Why Receivers Are A Key 'Must-Watch' At Cowboys Minicamp

With the signing of George Pickens, the Dallas Cowboys' receiver room depth chart now looks a little more in order.

CeeDee Lamb and Pickens as the two top dogs are a given, but underneath them, it is a little jumbled, with Kavonte Turpin, Jalen Tolbert, Jalen Brooks, Jonathan Mingo, Parris Campbell, and Ryan Flournoy all fighting for the remaining spots.

And that brings us to minicamp at The Star, a three-day affair that launches on Tuesday ... and yes, CowboysCountry.com will be inside ...

This will be a chance for those on the roster bubble and fighting to make the coaching staff take notice, and they will have three days to do it.

Tolbert, at the time of writing, appears to be the No. 3 receiver, having posted 610 yards and seven touchdowns last season. But then we have Turpin and his electric speed as an option, too.

But for me, minicamp is going to be crucial for others further down the depth chart.

Mingo looms as the biggest watch here.

Having been traded for last season, he barely saw the field under Mike McCarthy, and now, under Brian Schottenheimer, will he be able to make enough of an impact to validate his standing on the active roster in 2025?

Minicamp will give us a good indication as to where Mingo sits in the pecking order and how the Cowboys view him entering training camp. The others are Flournoy and Brooks, with both still looking to establish themselves as genuine contributors.

Training camp will be where we see who can take their chance, but minicamp at The Star is a chance to separate themselves from the competition early on.

And we will be eagerly watching to see who does it.
